In 2015 the Craig Tribal Association applied for the Indian Community Development Block Grant (ICDBG) for Mold Remediation and Prevention through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. That same year, the Tribe was awarded $553,150 for this grant.
With this grant the Tribe was able to establish the new Housing Department, hire a Housing Department Manager, and employ four carpenters and laborers to complete the necessary scopes of work. Overall, the Tribe was able to successfully remediate any mold and or moisture damages in sixteen (16) total homes within the Craig Tribal service area.
For possible future funding, we will continue to take applications for mold remediation.
The Tribe is well underway with the construction of the NAHASDA 4-Plex. To your left is the image from the pre-construction plans, and below is an image of the exterior as of December 31, 2020.
See the above photo gallery for the timeline for this project November 2019 through June 2020
Each 4-Plex housing unit will have three (3) bedrooms and two (2) bathrooms with all of the necessary living room and storage space, complete with an outside deck area.
